Dear PPN Readers,
We hope everyone is relaxing after a full two weeks of AP exams. (Phew!) PPN is excited to resume coverage and let the community know of all things Schechter until the end of the year! While exams were in session, we continued to honor important days on the Jewish calendar. On Yom HaShoah, the Holocaust Education and Awareness (HEAR) Club conducted a ceremony in order to emphasize the sentiment of "Never Again," and this notion continued throughout these two weeks. On Yom Hazikaron, Schechter commemorated the remembrance day of the Israeli soldiers who fought for Israel, our homeland. On Yom Ha'atzmaut, we celebrated the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948, therefore marking Israel's 76th birthday! We also welcomed high-school-aged Israeli basketball players who are currently displaced due to the war to a friendly game of basketball. (Editor's Note: It was an amazing game played before a crowded gym of spectators!)
On Yom Hazikaron, students got to hear stories from an IDF soldier. (SSLI Instagram)
Overall, these past two weeks have been busy, but there is still much more to come. Stay tuned for the next few weeks of the school year!
