Celebrating College Commitments, Round 2!

by Shir Levenson, SSLI '26

Editor’s Note: Many regular applications have come in, so, in order to celebrate the seniors’ college commitments, PPN is featuring members of the Class of 2025 throughout the school year as they decide where they will be next year.

Sasha Chernoff (PPN Co-Editor in Chief), University of Michigan

"In the fall, I will be attending the University of Michigan where I will be studying Psychology within the College of Arts and Sciences. I chose Michigan because I really loved the campus when I first visited two years ago, and my close family friends met there and have been telling me stories about the amazing place ever since I was little. Michigan's Jewish life is also thriving, and I look forward to learning from the great professors, joining many of the extra-curricular opportunities, and being a Wolverine! I know Michigan will prepare me for my future career, whatever that may be. Go blue!"

Elinor Schlissel, University of Delaware

"In the fall, I will be attending the University of Delaware, majoring in Psychology. I chose this school because I really loved the campus, and the close-knit community feel, while also getting that bigger school experience. I also really liked the vibrant Jewish community and the many clubs the school offers. I am looking forward to getting to have new experiences, becoming a part of the UD community, and meeting new people. Go Blue Hens!"

Talia Herbst (PPN Staff-Writer), Binghamton University

"Next fall, I will attend Binghamton University and major in Human Development. I chose this school because I loved the campus, the community, and specifically how big the Jewish life is there. I’m looking forward to starting a new chapter and meeting new people. Go Bearcats!"

Addison Pravato, University of Maryland

"I am going to the University of Maryland where I will be majoring in Public Health Science. I chose this school because it has a great Jewish life and it’s close to D.C., so there are so many great internship opportunities. Not only does Maryland have a great Public Health program, but I’m looking forward to spending time in D.C. and living close to the city."

Elizavetta Avezbakiyeva, Queensborough Community College

"I will be attending Queensborough Community College this fall where my major will be Nursing. I chose this school because it is local and an easy commute for me. I also love the campus, especially the building where I will be doing my clinicals. I look forward to attending Queensborough Community College for one year and then plan on transferring elsewhere to complete my bachelor's degree. I’m so excited to see what life brings me!"
