Yesterday, the senior class had a pre-planned “skip day” from school. Senior Skip Day is traditionally a fun grade-bonding event and a fun weekday getaway from school for the whole grade.Unfortunately, due to inclement weather, the seniors’ original plan of going to the Hamptons was cancelled. Instead, the group went to Roosevelt Field Mall where they had brunch, walked around, and shopped at the stores. Then, at night, they went out for frozen yogurt at Catch the Wave.

Senior Amit Nitzan explained, “The original plan was to go to the Hamptons and stay there overnight, [and] come in Tuesday.” He continued, “We went to the mall and had brunch and lunch and walked around there.”
Nitzan added, “I think it was a good grade-bonding event. It was fun to see everyone outside of school and to skip school.”
Senior Jared Greenfeld said, “I thought it was pretty decent. You know, we got to walk around…we went shopping, we got food, [and we] played with the sports equipment in Dick’s [Sporting Goods].”
Nitzan admitted, “I think it would have been better as the original event, but things happen.”
Although the seniors were unable to have the day that they planned, they still had a fun day off of school with their classmates.
Editor’s Note: The senior class enjoyed every aspect of our skip day. We had a delicious brunch, where we were able to talk about upcoming events, such as our Israel Trip, graduation, and prom. Then, at the mall, we went shopping and bought new clothes. Going out for frozen yogurt at night was a great way to end the awesome day. Senior Skip Day was truly a memorable experience for everyone.
