This week, Boys Varsity Hockey had two games and a media day. They faced Magem David twice, losing 10–3 in the first game, though Elan Golan scored a birthday goal. In their other matchup, they lost 8–1. Despite the losses, the media day was a success, highlighting the strong bonds and authenticity within the Storm.
Senior and team captain Jonah Resnick has been playing on the Storm since his freshman year. Resnick explained, “We should do things that make our sports feel more real, and stuff like media day really helps with that.” The hockey team dressed in their uniforms and took a variety of photos, including “group pictures, grade pictures, solo pictures—serious ones and funny ones.” Looking ahead, Resnick added, “I think we got a lot of good photos the school can use.”
Junior Sam Levenson said he enjoyed the experience because it was something he had never done before at Schechter. He explained that “the pictures were very personal and cool.” Levenson felt the event was very successful because “we were able to get everybody on the team dressed and together to get all the pictures we needed, and we were all very happy with the result.” He also hopes “this can be something we continue to do with all the other sports teams, making cool posters and things like that for everyone.”
