The event lasted three hours, but students felt like it lasted minutes due to the way the instructor taught. Junior Ephraim Berman, who attended CPR Night, noted that the instructor made the lessons entertaining and “funny.”
Almost 40 people showed up to CPR Night in order to better educate themselves and to become certified. Student Government President and senior Micah Bidner said that “One of the bigger goals of Student Government is to give opportunities to students that encourage them and empower them."
Not only did the lessons help students learn how to react in emergency situations, but they gave them the opportunity to put their newly acquired skills on their applications. Freshman Ethan Norris explained that CPR Night “helped educate [him],” and that his CPR certification will help him with a summer job application.
The skills that students learned at the event are not just meant to improve applications but to also make Schechter and the world a safer place. Thank you to Student Government for sponsoring CPR Night!
