Yesterday, Boys Varsity Volleyball had their first game of the season against The Knox School. Unfortunately, they lost 3-0; however, the first two sets were very close, and the boys played their hardest.
Sophomore Micah Bidner is a setter, and he feels that working on defense is a key to success in the future. “Knox had some very good hitters," Bidner said. "Our defensive players did a great job blocking their hits, but sometimes it was too crazy.”
Coach Josh Jurysta described the game as a “marathon, not a sprint.” The team will “continue to work on offense, defense, serve-receive, ball control, communication, and teamwork,” he explained.

Captain Liam Golan added, "We definitely played a tougher team, but we had our heads in the game, [and we were] ready for what was coming towards us.”
The team's next game is next week. Bidner said, “I am looking forward to improving my own skills [during practice] for our upcoming games.”
Golan concluded, “This was just one out of many games; we still have a whole season ahead of us, and many games to win.”
