Yesterday, Kesher began its annual clothing drive that will take place from now until April 12. A box is in the lobby for students and teachers to put clothes in to donate. Any type of clothing that is good quality and in good condition is acceptable to donate. All the clothes being collected will be donated after April 12 to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Big Brothers Big Sisters of America was established in 1904. According to their website, this organization’s vision is for “all youth[s] [to] achieve their full potential.” In order to accomplish their mission, they have adults volunteer, and they are considered "Bigs" and the children are considered "Littles."
Junior Addison Pravato will be donating some of her clothes. She said, “This time of year is when I normally clean out my closet for ‘spring cleaning,’ so it is the perfect opportunity to donate my old clothes to a good cause.”
Ms. Kassell, the club advisor, explained that “about every other year, Kesher donates to Big Brothers Big Sisters.” She added, “In my own time, I always donate my clothes to them every year.”
Please consider donating to the clothing drive! (E. Strachan)
It is always important to give back to those who are not as fortunate as us. Kassell stated, "This is a way of really giving back to people who are in need.”
Chernoff concluded, “I feel that we're helping people that really need it, and I'm really grateful that we have this opportunity where we can give back to the community.”
