Picture Day!

 by Talia Herbst, SSLI '25

Today, Schechter students dressed to impress and smiled big for picture day. Individual photos were taken as well as grade and sibling photos.

For seniors, this was their last ever picture day of their Schechter career. Senior and Student Body President Elinor Schlissel was feeling very surreal that this was the last picture day for seniors. She explained, “The most surreal part for me was taking the cap and gown pictures. It was fun to see the whole grade dressed nicely. Seeing everyone in cap and gown made it even more fun and made me even more excited for graduation!”

Similarly, senior and Spirit Chair Addison Pravato was sad it was the last picture day. When seniors were putting on caps and gowns, she stated, “It started to feel real that this is the end.”

The photographers this year were very patient and made the picture day experience, which can be very hectic for some, a great experience for all. Junior Eden Greenfeld was very happy with the photographers and felt that “taking the pictures this year was very pleasant; my photographer was very sweet. She genuinely cared how I liked my picture and didn’t rush me.” Pravato agreed and added, “I loved the photographer, especially because he let me retake my picture.”

Freshmen Nola Berg’s favorite part about picture day was “Getting ready for [picture day] and taking sibling pictures since both of my siblings are in the school this year.”

Juniors who will be seniors next year have thought about the fact that, at this time next year, it will be them in caps and gowns. Greenfeld commented, “The thought of me being in a cap and gown next year at picture day is very surreal to me, but it’s very exciting.”
