For the next two weeks, Schechter’s Kesher Club is holding its annual Thanksgiving food drive. All the proceeds collected will be donated to Island Harvest.Kesher has been donating to Island Harvest for many years now. Senior, President of Kesher, and Paw Print Now editor Sasha Chernoff explained, “We think Island Harvest is a really good organization with a good mission. Especially during the holiday season and during Thanksgiving, we want to make sure that everyone who can’t afford [a meal] will be able to spend the holiday with their loved ones and enjoy a delicious meal.”
According to their website, Island Harvest believes that “every family should have the opportunity to gather around the table and create cherished memories, especially during this season of gratitude.”
Junior and club member Emma Roth feels it is important to donate food because she is “directly helping people in need.” Roth shared that donating food is a reminder to her of how fortunate she is to “always have food on [her] table.”

Chernoff stated, “If we can do anything on our part to help people this holiday, it will really enhance their Thanksgiving.” Chernoff added, “It feels really great knowing that Schechter and Kesher are making an impact on people's lives and helping them.”
Kesher is collecting stuffing, canned vegetables, cranberry sauce, gravy, canned fruit, pumpkin pie mix, juices, and anything else related to Thanksgiving. Roth shared that she “contributed crispy onions, cans of cranberry, and mashed potato mix to the drive so families can have a healthy [and] delicious Thanksgiving meal.”
