Today, the senior class stayed after school for a grade event to watch the video of the 2019 seniors' production of Sallah Shabati, the Hebrew play they will be performing in the spring.
Senior and Grade Representative Ellie Strachan stated, “My favorite part was definitely just hanging out with all my friends and laughing at all the parts that we know we’re going to get to play. We were so excited to see other people do what we’re gonna get to do in the show, sing all the songs we are going to get to sing. It was just an enjoyable time with my friends.”
Another senior, Noah Schor, shared, “We all cuddled up in classroom 206 with some nice blankets, pillows, and air mattresses.” Schor continued, “I think just being there with my classmates and getting to see my sister's class on the screen was so fun. It reminded me of what it was like to watch when I was in middle school.”
Strachan expressed that “having grade events is really important so that we can bond with our grade. This is our last year together. These are the precious moments that we get to spend before we all go our separate ways. I really enjoy getting to plan these for my friends and then getting to see them have such a fun time.”
Senior Elisha Herbst enjoyed “hanging out with my friends and seeing the past seniors perform the songs we just learned because we were able to sing along and be engaged." Schor agreed, saying, “I think that having grade events is a great way for our senior class to just enjoy each other’s company as much as we can in our last year.”
Senior Sam Palter explained his favorite part was "seeing how there’s a continuation between the years of Schechter, how you know we have that connection to grades before us, and how you know we’re going to take inspiration from them and then also try to make this play our own. It just got me very excited for our production of Sallah Shabati.”
