Celebrating College Commitments: Round 3!

by Talia Herbst, SSLI '25

Editor’s Note: May 1 is commitment day, so, in order to celebrate the seniors’ college commitments, PPN is featuring members of the Class of 2025 throughout the school year as they decide where they will be next year.

Elisha Herbst, Tufts University

“This fall, I will be attending Tufts University and majoring in Engineering Science. I chose this major because I am interested in going into a career related to engineering but not sure exactly what type. I am looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends. Go Jumbos!”

Carly Smith (PPN Co-Editor in Chief), University of Virginia

"In the fall, I will be attending the University of Virginia. I am in the College of Arts and Sciences, and I am going to be majoring in Political Science and Government. I chose this major because I have really enjoyed participating in mock trial and taking social studies and government classes, and I wanted to pursue that interest in college. I am excited for this new experience, and I am looking forward to making new friends and spending time exploring Charlottesville!"

Noah Schor, University of Pennsylvania

“I am going to the University of Pennsylvania. I am majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). I chose this major because it leaves my options open for the future and doesn’t force me to take a specific focus on one field. I am most looking forward to playing hockey for the club team and making new friends."

Hannah Fineman, University of Georgia

“For college, I will be attending the University of Georgia. Go Dawgs! There, I will be majoring in Biological Sciences on a pre-med track. I really want to go into pediatric medicine when I am older, so this major will help me towards that path. In other exciting news, next year, I will be taking a gap year to Israel on the Young Judaea Year Course program. There, I will be living in Jerusalem for half the year and taking classes, then moving to Tel Aviv and volunteering as an EMT for Magen David Adam. I’m so excited for both my experiences to come next year in Israel and my following years in Georgia.”

Jorgia Saracino, University of Wisconsin

"I am attending the University of Wisconsin. I am currently undecided as I am unsure what I will ultimately want to major in. I would like to explore different classes to find what I feel is the best fit major. I am most looking forward to meeting new friends from different backgrounds and being an active student on campus."

Noah Yakoby - New York University

“I will be attending NYU. I will be majoring in Real Estate. I chose this major because I will be learning the skills needed for me to better communities via a successful career in real estate development. I am most looking forward to taking advantage of all the opportunities NYC has to offer. With NYC as my learning lab, I am certain to turn my vision into a reality. Go, Bobcats!”

Ariel Duftler, Tulane University

“Next year, I will be attending Tulane University to study Mathematics and Finance. I chose these majors to foster my love for numbers and numerical relationships while also preparing for a hopefully successful career in finance. I am most looking forward to meeting new people, playing all and any club sports, and taking advantage of all the fun aspects of college.”
