This past Sunday, Schechter hosted an Open House. Many students and faculty came to the event in an effort to get new students interested in enrolling at Schechter. Families from other schools came to the Open House to see if Schechter was the right place for them.
To start off the event, student ambassadors and department heads introduced themselves to the new families. Club boards were put up around the gym to show everything the school offers in terms of extracurriculars.
Following the club presentation, several teachers ran presentations for each of the departments in the high school. This included showing conversations in both Hebrew and Spanish as well as other presentations by the English, Science, and History departments. Additionally, Art Mandel, the Director of Pupil Services and Counseling, talked about the process of helping students get into college.

Junior Sam Levenson thought that "the Open House went really well." He added that "families were excited to see our school." He also said that the Open House “will show what kind of people are looking at the school" and that "if people choose to come to our school, it will really benefit us.”
Levenson shared that the student ambassadors were a major part of the Open House. They represented a student's perspective of the school, sharing things like different clubs they are involved in. Junior Brielle Melzer was a speaker on the panel for the prospective families. She felt that "The panel was effective and lots of families were interested."
Ms. Dubow, the Director of Jewish Education and Community Engagement, said that an Open House is meant "to attract new students and maintain current ones," and she hopes that "we have accomplished that goal."
