In the past week, Junior Varsity Boys Basketball, Boys Varsity Hockey, and Girls Varsity Volleyball all had games against other Yeshiva schools.
On Tuesday, the boys lost to HAFTR on the court with a score of 83-30. On Thursday, they played Rambam with a final score of 74-35, with Rambam winning.
Prior to Tuesday's game, freshman and basketball player Harrison Kolin shared what the team has been working on during practices. Kolin said that the team has been “working on sets on defense and offense” and “on passing, talking and communication.”
Elan Golan, a sophomore who also plays for the team, felt that “[the team] has to run plays better and get [their] stamina up.” One issue Golan pointed out is that “[they] are outnumbered” and that it's hard to play with only a small number of people on the team. Golan is hoping the team can improve better on scoring more and the communication on the court.
Kolin is excited for the upcoming games and shared that “there are a lot of tough teams, but we have goals to compete as much as we can and hopefully get a few wins.”
This past Wednesday, Storm played against Ramban and lost 11-1. While they did not end up victorious, they played hard and are hopeful for their upcoming games.
Senior and hockey captain Jonah Resnick shared his thoughts on the game. Resnick remarked that they improved from their past game, and that “[they] came out for each other.” For future games, Resnick hopes that the team can be “a little more competitive on the scoreboard.”
Gideon Levenson, a freshman and hockey player, felt that the team can improve by “putting in more effort and being more aware on the rink.” Levenson added, “Rambam was one of our better games despite what the scoreboard showed.” Levenson is hopeful for upcoming games and is “looking forward to the thrill of playing hockey and hopefully [his] first goal.”

On Wednesday, Girls Varsity Volleyball played against HAFTR and lost their match, with a score of 3-2.
Brielle Melzer, a junior and volleyball player, felt the game went really well despite the loss. Melzer said, “We did the best we could and had fun as a team.”
Junior and volleyball player Madison Hoffman reflected on the past game and shared that the team had “really good communication.” Hoffman added, “Even though we lost, we still played well, and that's what matters.” Both Melzer and Hoffman are hoping for an amazing season and to get more wins.
Wishing all the Schechter sports teams good luck in all their upcoming games! Go Lions and Go Storm!
