Every year, people around the world celebrate the new year by making resolutions. Today, Schechter students shared what their personal resolutions are for 2026.
Freshmen:
The 9th grade hopes to be more focused in the new year. Zachary Bazini's resolution is “To be getting better grades and to be locked in.” Like Bazini, Anna Siegel wants to improve in sports by focusing on them specifically. Abby Marcus wants to focus on life more and said that she is going “to get off [her] phone and to live in the moment more."
Sophomores:
The sophomores mostly focused on self-care. Jake Siegel’s resolution is “to have better work habits” in order to care for himself. Nola Berg wants to “make [her] bed every day, and drink more water.” On the other hand, some sophomores want to focus more on school, such as Lila Harris, who resolved to “get better grades in AP Seminar.”

Juniors:
Unlike the freshmen and sophomores, the 11th graders' resolutions did not fit under one theme. Penina Charry’s resolution was “to stay consistent with my running,” but Madison Hoffman said she wanted to “eat more carrots” in the new year. Sara Rosenthal is aiming to prioritize her academics: She wants to do her “school work ahead of time and not right before it’s due.”
Seniors:
Many seniors didn’t make New Year’s resolutions this year. However, Rebecca Bazini’s resolution is “to wake up a little earlier and cook myself a good, nutritious breakfast.”
Happy New Year!
